Cleaning a split type air conditioner is essential to maintain its efficiency and prolong its lifespan. Start by turning off the power to ensure safety. Begin with the indoor unit by gently opening the front cover and removing the filters. Wash these filters with warm, soapy water and let them dry completely before reinserting. Next, use a vacuum or a soft brush to clean any dust or debris from the evaporator coils. It’s also advisable to clean the drainage system to prevent clogs and water leakage. For the outdoor unit, clear any debris or leaves from around the unit and use a hose to gently wash the condenser coils, avoiding high-pressure water that could damage the fins. Regular maintenance, ideally every three months, will keep your air conditioner running smoothly and efficiently.
